Real Madrid’s English midfielder Jude Bellingham starts 2024 as the world’s most valuable soccer player.
That’s according to the International Centre for Sports Studies’ (CIES) football observatory’s list of player valuations as of January 3, 2024. The research organization has valued Bellingham at 267.5 million euros, or $293 million.

And it probably comes as no surprise that Bellingham is top of the list after the 23-year-old moved to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for around $113 million last summer. Since his move to the Bernabeu, Bellingham has been in phenomenal form and has managed to score 13 goals in 17 La Liga games. Buy Norco Pills Online 10mg Cheap Without Prescription
But the CIES list does contain some surprises, with soccer transfer fee inflation pushing values skywards.
Fifty-one players on the list are now valued at more than $100 million. (EUR 91.2 mil.)
More than half of those are in the Premier League.
Arsenal have seven players worth $100 million-plus. But the top of the list is dominated by Manchester City and La Liga side Real Madrid. Both have six players worth more than $100 million including three each in the top ten, with Real’s Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo ranked third and fourth and City’s Erling Haaland ranked second on the list, with Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez also in the top ten.
The fifth most expensive player on the CIES list is Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, with the top five being made up of the same players as last summer’s list, with Bellingham jumping up a few places and Saka falling from third to fifth.

CIES’ player values are affect by age, contract length, and the player’s club, so players like Paris Saint-Germain’s French forward Kylian Mbappe, who was once valued as the world’s most valuable player, fall down the list as their contract nears its end. Mbappe has just six months remaining on his contract and can move for free in the summer, but he is still the 27th most expensive player on the list, and the most expensive in Ligue 1, with a value of $116 million.

He’s not PSG’s highest value player though. That’s Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons, who is currently on loan at RB Leipzig.
Chelsea’s huge spending recently on young players who have generally been give extremely long contracts means that it might come as a surprise that only two Chelsea players – Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer — are value at more than $100 million.
